Explorations Company acquires Prospero Travel
We’re pleased to announce that our portfolio company, Explorations Company has acquired Prospero Travel, a highly bespoke Latin America travel specialist.
This strategic move marks the first acquisition for Explorations Company since it was purchased by Viadi in January 2022 and is the start of an exciting new chapter in the company’s growth, strengthening its position as a leader in extraordinary and transformational travel.
Founded on shared values of excellence, authenticity, personalised service, and philanthropy, Explorations Company and Prospero Travel are natural partners, united by a passion for creating unforgettable and life-affirming journeys that immerse travellers in extraordinary destinations around the world, protecting and benefiting the local nature, wildlife, and communities.
With this acquisition, Prospero Travel’s founder Mark Beken joins the team at Explorations Company as the Head of Latin America. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge, experience, and established industry relationships, he will be looking to enhance the company’s ability to curate even more extraordinary travel experiences across the continent, reflecting the essence of exploration, adventure, and discovery, with an unwavering commitment to giving back and creating a positive impact.
